Forensic Resolutions, Inc. is dedicated to the field of forensic and investigative accounting. We serve as experts or consultants in matters relating to economic damages, fraud, insurance claims and a myriad of other financial disputes.
As independent experts, we are advocates for our position, not advocates for our client. The history of a variety of assignments in many industries and jurisdictions, working with either the Plaintiff and Defense in various matters, gives us a unique insight and capability to serve our clients. We apply an investigative mindset to engagements and are professional skeptics. Each case has its own special set of problems and solutions.
Forensic Resolutions was formed by Howard Silverstone and Jim Stavros in 2004. Jim and Howard have worked together since 1988. Jim started his career in banking before beginning his forensic accounting career at Laventhol & Horwath in 1988. Howard began his career as an auditor for a large firm in London, England before coming to the U.S. in 1985, where he began working for Laventhol & Horwath in the newly formed Forensic and Litigation Services Department. Together, Jim and Howard worked in the new field of forensic accounting in the late 1980’s, primarily working on large construction, surety, embezzlement/fraud, banking and similar disputes. They both worked at Lindquist Avey, Macdonald Baskerville, Inc. the largest Canadian forensic accounting firm at the time, opening the Philadelphia office in 1993. After growing the Philadelphia practice, Lindquist Avey later became Kroll, Inc., a public company, where Jim and Howard worked until 2004, when they formed Forensic Resolutions, Inc.

Forensic Resolutions, Inc. is currently the largest independent forensic accounting firm in the Philadelphia area, exclusively devoted to forensic and investigative accounting, with over 13 professionals. Our individual backgrounds in banking, auditing, tax and accounting, working outside the traditional accounting firm or public company model give us a unique ability to provide independent, objective services to clients.
Our professionals have worked on thousands of forensic accounting and claims assignments and have been involved in every aspect of cases including strategic planning, analysis and model building, assistance with all phases of discovery, including assistance with depositions and expert witness testimony in many jurisdictions. We have experience in matters including evaluating claims for lost earnings, lost profits, inventory, property damage, contents and allegations of fraud, among other matters in a variety of case types including breach of contract, product liability, catastrophic loss and investigative accounting issues. Our Directors are experienced testifiers in State and Federal jurisdictions and have written and spoken extensively on various forensic accounting issues.
Our Mission
We apply an investigative mindset to engagements and are professional skeptics. We rely on counsel to provide the parameters of law; we determine damages, if any, based on a legal foundation and in accordance with AICPA, industry, state and federal law standards.
